Resveratrol – The Anti-Aging Nutrient

Research has shown some major benefits with including the antioxidant resveratrol in your diet:

  • Anti-aging properties which protect your body’s cells.
  • Is an antioxidant that has been linked to decreased heart disease risks.
  • Could inhibit the growth of colon and prostate cancers.
  • Can increase the bloodflow to the brain.
  • Combats free radicals which can cause disease.

Some great sources of resveratrol:

  • Red wine is the most common source of resveratrol.
  • Resveratrol supplements are available (I have used these if I am in a RARE phase of trying to avoid alcohol).
  • Peanuts and cocoa powder can contains small amounts.
